Pacific Beverage Service isn't a franchise, a chain, or a dispatch center. It's one technician with the training, the tools, and the commitment to do the job right. My name is Steven Rook, and I've been keeping commercial espresso equipment running across Southern Idaho since 2015.
My technical career started in the United States Navy, maintaining and repairing complex radar and electronic systems. In that environment, there was no room for guesswork. Every diagnosis had to be precise, every repair had to hold, and every system had to be ready when it mattered.
When I transitioned into the espresso industry, I brought that same discipline with me. A commercial espresso machine is a complex system — hydraulics, electronics, thermodynamics, and mechanical components all working together under pressure. The diagnostic approach I learned in the Navy applies directly: understand the system, isolate the problem, fix the root cause, and verify the repair.
That philosophy has been the foundation of Pacific Beverage Service for over twenty years.
I answer my own phone. When you call Pacific Beverage Service, you're talking to the person who will be working on your machine — not a receptionist, not a scheduler, not a technician you've never met. That direct line of communication is something I've always valued, and my customers tell me it matters to them too.
I treat every machine like it's critical to someone's livelihood — because it is. A cafe that can't pull shots is a cafe that's losing money. I show up prepared, I work efficiently, and I explain what I found so you understand what happened and how to prevent it next time.
I also believe in being straight with people. If a repair doesn't make financial sense, I'll tell you. If your machine is past its useful life, I'll help you plan the replacement rather than sinking money into a losing battle. And if there's something you can check yourself before paying for a service call, I'll walk you through it on the phone.
I've watched the Treasure Valley coffee scene grow from a handful of shops into something genuinely impressive. I've been part of that — installing first machines for new cafes, keeping legacy equipment running for shops that have been around as long as I have, and helping business owners navigate the equipment decisions that come with growth.
